AutoCAD Practice (The True Measure: Dimlfac, Dimscale, Dim-update)


The dimension sizes below the drawing are twice of the real sizes. To reduce the dimension sizes needs to use “dimlfac” command. Let me show you how to do this.

“Dimlfac” Enter – Input Real Rate (Ex. 0.5) Enter

Dimlfac - 0.5 (real rate)

Then you need to do the “dim update” to apply the “dimlfac” command to the drawing.

“dim” Enter – “update” Enter – “All” Enter

If you want to change the dimension scale, you can use the “dimscale” command”.

“dimscale” Enter – input the dimension scale” Enter – “dim” Enter – “update” Enter – “All” Enter
